Toscolano-Maderno is located on the south-western shore of Lake Garda right between the steep, rocky parts in the more northerly parts of the west and the flat coast to the south.
The municipality consists of two villages which were merged in 1928. As a consequence, it has two village centres. The charm of Toscolano-Maderna only becomes apparent with time: narrow lanes, romantic restaurants and hidden stretches of coast delight visitors and also make this a thrilling holiday resort for families.
Toscolano-Maderno is a superb base for excursions around and on Lake Garda. There is an excellent network of roads and hiking trails which make the mountainous interior easily accessible to explore by bike or on foot. Recommended excursions include Saló, Gardone and Malcesine.
The western coastline of Lake Garda – which includes Toscolano-Maderno – is very tranquil and has a rustic air about it. Enjoy particularly good food at attractive prices in the typical restaurants and trattorie. The cuisine is traditionally Italian and serves up just about everything imaginable from the lake and mountains.
