The name of San Felice del Benato, probably comes from the Latin "sinus felix", inlet happy. The village is located west of Lake Garda directly on the lake.

Near the village you can visit the picturesque port Portese. The centre is composed of many narrow streets that climb the hill. In the town centre, near restaurants and hotels, is the parish church of San Felice. The church is one of the biggest churches of Lake Garda. Built between 1740 and 1781 by Antonio Corbellini, the church is dedicated to Sts. Felice, Adauto and Flavia. Of particular importance paintings and frescoes in the church by Carlo Carloni, Zenon Veronese and Giosuè Scotti.

Sights in San Felice del Benaco are also the small church of San Fermo of the 15th century and the church of Santa Maria del Carmine, visit by hundreds of pilgrims also today.

Parco Fontanell
