Holidays in Desenzano at Lake Garda, Italy
With its 20000 inhabitants Desenzano is the biggest town on Lake Garda, a proper town. Unlike other places, Desenzano does not have all that many beaches. However, you will particularly like its vibrant atmosphere, for instance when strolling and shopping in the large pedestrian zone or sipping cappuccino on Piazza Matteotti while watching the world meander by. The bars in the old harbour are a very popular place in the evenings, so finding a free seat is always difficult, especially if you fancy a ride on one of the hammock swings.
On Friday and Saturday nights, the streets of the pedestrian zone are packed with youngsters from all over the region, and at least until midnight you almost stand no chance of squeezing through. It’s time for flaunting and flirting before they move on to the discos in the surrounding area, one of which even boasts to be the biggest disco in Europe.
