Holidays in Peschiera at Lake Garda, Italy
Peschiera is a lovely little village to the south east of Lake Garda. The medieval centre is particularly impressive. It assumes the form of a pentagonal star like an island in the water and can only be reached across bridges.
Holidaymakers will find lots of little shops and pleasant cafés on their strolls through the centre. Over a delicious cup of latte macchiato, this is where you can relax and watch the locals and visitors engaged in a buzz of activity. Visitors should not miss the weekly market, held every Monday. You have to bargain with the traders to get the best price. The fruit, vegetables and fish on offer there are particularly fresh.
Peschiera is a resort. An extensive shingle beach and the placid water make this holiday destination particularly interesting for families. As well as a pleasant beach holiday Peschiera also features highly diverse surroundings that beg to be explored on hikes or bike rides. On the landside Peschiera nestles among gentle hills offering lots of delights to connoisseurs and wine-buffs. After all, the vineyards around Peschiera belong to the wine-growing region of Lugana Venetia.
Italy’s premier leisure park, Gardaland, is located near Peschiera. As well as the roller coaster Gardaland also offers a wide choice of themed shows and exciting games. It is located in the village of Castelnuovo.
