Scuba Diving

On Lake Garda, diving enthusiasts also get their money’s worth. Instead of diving for coral reefs and multicoloured fish, like in the Carribbean, you can search for sunken galleys and admire the illuminated Madonna statue near Brenzone.

Underwater Madonna
In 2000, a diving club in Brenzone fixed a heavy, 3-metre-high Madonna statue to the bottom of the lake 18 metres below the surface. This underwater Madonna has become very popular with the divers, and even more so as it is illuminated. An 80-metre-long power cable connects the statue to the electricity grid of Brenzone.
