Playground for the adventurous
Mountain-bikers and hikers can explore the mountainsides. Where the ground becomes to rough for them, rock-climbers take over – the most spectacular rock-faces are the ones rising directly out of the lake.
The tourist offices of the “Olive Riviera” organize trips and guided tours on Monte Baldo on summer weekends. On offer are also botanical trips, tours on religious holidays and moonlight rambles. Meanwhile, on the lake itself a host of surfers battles with the wind, or against it – it isn’t all that easy to tell from the shore.
The steep mountainsides act like a nozzle though which the fierce winds are channelled, creating challenging surfing conditions.
