Theme Parks

The Italians love them: giant fun parks and animal parks like the ones situated in the surroundings of Peschiera. Yet criticism has increased over the past few years, especially since the death of two dolphins in the “Gardaland” amusement park. According to the theme park manager the animals died of a natural death; however, a trainer who left the park under protest accused the management of giving too many shows and thus causing the animals an intolerable amount of stress. Furthermore, the president of the Animal and Nature Conservation Fund, Giuli Cordara, complained that dolphinariums similar to the one at Lake Garda had been forced to close all around the world and that only in Italy they remained open without further discussions.
